Steve Korns Joins Redhorse Leadership Team

Steve Korns has joined the Redhorse Leadership Team as Vice President and Cyber Lead. Mr. Korns brings over 33 years of leadership and experience across both industry and government. He served 28 years in the military, including enlisted time in the U.S. Army, and 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring at the rank of Colonel in 2010.

Prior to joining Redhorse, Mr. Korns served as CTO at General Dynamics Intel Division, Vice President at Cyber Checkmate, Senior Director of Cyber Consulting at CenturyLink, and Director of Cyber Solutions at L-3 Communications. During his military service he held key IT leadership positions and contributed directly to National and DoD cyber initiatives, including as member of the Presidential Commission for the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative, Director of Cyber Operations Assessments at U.S. CYBER COMMAND, Chief of Staff at the U.S. National Cyber Security Center, and Director of the DoD Global Network Operations and Security Center.

Mr. Korns has managed large scale, complex IT and cyber programs, ranging from a $2B Air Force Pentagon IT portfolio, a $145M cyber business program at L-3, to a $5M cyber R&D program. He is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and also holds certifications as Defensive Cyberspace Operations Engineer (DCOE), Project Management Professional (PMP), and DoD IT Systems Acquisition (Level II).

Mr. Korns is a graduate of the George Washington University Senior Government Executive National Security Program. He holds a Masters in Strategic Leadership Studies from the Air War College, and a Masters in Information Systems Management from Hawaii Pacific University. He is a published author on cyber security and IT technology, policy, and strategy.
