Refugee, Asylum, and International Operations Directorate (RAIO)

Redhorse Corporation provides onsite management support, records management operations, and administrative support to the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Refugee, Asylum, and International Operations Directorate (RAIO). These services support RAIO operations worldwide and further the USCIS mission to administer the immigration and naturalization laws of the United States.

Redhorse supports the RAIO Directorate within USCIS with program and administrative support to oversee, plan, and implement policies and activities related to asylum and refugee issues as well as immigration services overseas. RAIO aims to secure America’s promise by assuring in the overseas environment that the right benefit is provided to the right applicant and offer protection to refugees, both in and outside the U.S., in accordance to our laws and international obligations.

Redhorse supports a broad spectrum of activities in processing applicants including: humanitarian benefit of refugee resettlement to applicants in need of protection throughout the world while protecting the U.S. homeland through careful national security screening; manages the U.S. affirmative asylum process, which permits individuals already in the U.S. or at a port of entry, who are not in immigration proceedings, to request asylum if they are unable or unwilling to return to their country of origin due to past persecution or a well-founded fear of future persecution; and supporting three overseas district offices (Mexico City, Bangkok, Rome) and 25 International field offices. With a broad footprint extending from U.S. embassies and consulates to additional refugee processing locations, RAIO is the face of USCIS abroad.
