Jason Houser Joins Redhorse Corporation as the Director of Homeland Security Analytics

Jason Houser joins Redhorse Corporation as the Director of Homeland Security Analytics. Mr. Houser has nearly two decades of experience in the homeland security and intelligence sectors including experience managing dozens of Federal agency programs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as well as advising and managing policy and operational activities for cabinet-level DHS principals, military leadership, and the National Security Staff.

Before joining Redhorse, Mr. Houser worked across multiple DHS directorates, managing key policy and program initiatives on behalf of Department leadership. Appointed by President Barack Obama in 2009, he most recently served as Senior Advisor with the Office of Field Operations within DHS Customs & Border Protection (CBP) where he led and managed counter terrorism initiatives and oversaw information-sharing, vetting, and analytic programs – including the expanded use of social media analytics for vetting processes within the agency.

During his tenure at DHS, he also served separately as Deputy Chief of Staff of for the Intelligence & Analysis (I&A) directorate and as Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs, where he orchestrated Senate confirmations for several DHS appointees and managed Hill outreach on a portfolio of high-profile issues ranging from Deepwater Horizon to the Boston Bombing. At I&A, he oversaw, managed, and implemented the establishment of the Office of Counterterrorism Coordinator within DHS Headquarters – a ground-breaking initiative that aligned multiple intelligence stakeholders across the DHS enterprise, led to the disruption of several terrorist threats, fostered the National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS), and overhauled the refugee vetting process.

Mr. Houser is an Intelligence Officer in the US Navy Reserves where he serves in a Joint Space Unit located at Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado. With a primary designator in Information Dominance Warfare Officer, he also holds qualifications in space operations and operational planning. In 2015, he deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in support of NATO’s Resolute Support mission and the Afghan Forces’ operations against the Taliban, Al Qaida and the Islamic State.

Jason also currently serves as an adjunct faculty instructor of Homeland Security at Anne Arundel Community College, is a member of the Truman National Security Project and US Global Leadership Council. Mr. Houser holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Tennessee, a Master’s in Public Policy from George Mason University, and a Masters in Security Studies from the Naval War College, and is a 2013 graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School National Security Program & Executive Fellow Program.
