Redhorse delivers Legislative tracking support to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense Policy (OUSD[P]) and Personnel and Readiness (OUSD[P&R]), providing qualified legislative experts to help support OUSD(P) and (P&R) on a wide range of legislative enabling functions.

OUSD(P) is the principal staff assistant and adviser to both the Secretary of Defense (SecDef) and for all matters concerning the formation of national security and defense policy. OUSD(P&R) is responsible for advising the SecDef on recruitment, career development, pay and benefits, and oversight of the state of military readiness.

Redhorse responsibilities include responding to reporting requirements, monitoring and tracking proposed legislation, identifying potential provisions in legislation that would affect OUSD(P) issues, and assisting in hearing preparation and follow-up. Redhorse also assists in hearing preparation, responding to and preparing formal Questions and Answers and questions-for-the-record, and other support functions as required to assist OUSD(P) and (P&R) in responding to Congressional inquiries or engaging with Congress.
